Trailer & Hitch

Affiliate Disclosure

Trailer & Hitch is funded by affiliate commission. Here is exactly how that works and what it does not change.

The short version

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we earn a commission from the retailer. It costs you nothing extra — the price you pay is the same as it would be going direct.

Commission never decides what we recommend or the order we recommend it in. Where one product is better for the buyer we link it even when another pays more. If that ever stopped being true, this page would be a lie and the site would not be worth reading.

The Amazon Associates statement

As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

Trailer & Hitch is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.

Every Amazon link on this site carries the tracking identifier imm-trailerhitch-20, which is this site’s own and is not shared with any other site.

Which programs are active

Currently, Amazon Associates only. We checked the affiliate networks we hold accounts with and none of their joined advertisers sells towing or RV gear, so there is nothing else to disclose.

That is the normal state of a new site rather than a gap. Active programs as of this page:

  • Amazon — Varies by category

Manufacturer websites linked from this site — the pages we read capacity figures and specifications from — are not affiliate links. We do not earn anything if you visit them, and they are there as citations.

Every buy link on this site goes through /go/, a server-side redirect that adds the tracking identifier and sends you to the retailer. Three consequences worth knowing:

  • Every affiliate link carries rel="sponsored nofollow noopener", which is what Google’s link policy requires of paid links.
  • The redirect is excluded from search indexing, so no affiliate URL appears in search results.
  • Clicks are counted so we can see which pages are useful. That is an aggregate count, not a profile of you.

About the prices

Prices come from the retailer and change constantly. We do not type them, we do not estimate them, and we do not carry them forward from an old draft.

Every price on this site is read automatically from the retailer, carries the date it was read, and disappears after 48 hours. If the automated refresh stops, every price vanishes and every button falls back to “Check price on Amazon” rather than showing you a stale number.

The last automated read was October 5, 2026. The price you see at the retailer at the moment you click is the price that applies.

One narrow exception, declared: where an editorial comparison needs a figure that is not a current street price — a manufacturer’s published MSRP for a value comparison — it is labeled as such, cited and dated, and it never appears in a buy button.

What we do not do

  • We do not accept payment for inclusion or for a ranking. No brand has ever paid to appear here and none can.
  • We do not accept free products in exchange for coverage.
  • We do not publish sponsored posts or brand-written content.
  • We do not fabricate prices, ratings, review counts or test results. We do not test these products at all — that is stated plainly on the method page.
  • We do not use urgency or scarcity language. No countdowns, no “only a few left,” no invented savings.

Per-page disclosure

Every page that carries product picks shows a disclosure above its first buy link, injected automatically by the page template rather than added by hand. That is so it cannot be forgotten on one page out of eighty.

The regulatory bit

This disclosure exists to comply with the United States Federal Trade Commission’s guidance on endorsements and testimonials, which requires a clear and conspicuous disclosure of a material connection between a publisher and the products it recommends. Affiliate commission is such a connection, and this is that disclosure.

Email contact@trailerandhitch.com. If you think a recommendation on this site looks commission-driven rather than buyer-driven, say so and name the page — that is exactly the kind of message worth sending.
